"VERONNEAU could easily fit on jazz, world and pop radio... a kaleidoscope of internationally flavored tunes and varied textures delivered by a gorgeous voice." Capital Bop
“VERONNEAU don’t imitate Mitchell and King—they converse with them. Each interpretation feels like a reflection across time, finding new meaning in their songs about longing, freedom, and self-discovery. Blue Tapestry is a warm, intelligent, and deeply felt tribute—an album that rekindles the magic of Mitchell and King while quietly writing a new chapter in the same lineage". ODYSSEY Magazine, Iain Johnson
"Lovely and meaningful...a truly wonderful musical performance…everyone walked out lighter than when they walked in" Strathmore Performing Arts, commenting on VERONNEAU’s Blue Tapestry live performance.
Top 10 charting album on the US Folk Music charts!
VERONNEAU pay tribute to the songwriting genius of Joni Mitchell and Carole King, reimagining selections from their groundbreaking 1971 works “Blue” and “Tapestry”. These two artists redefined the role of women in music—not just as performers, but as powerful, introspective composers whose deeply personal songs helped ignite the singer-songwriter movement of the 1970s. Mitchell and King’s lyrical honesty and melodic brilliance continue to resonate decades later, marking their work as some of the most influential and acclaimed in 20th-century music history.
Award-winning, husband and wife duo, led by Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau, and guitarist Ken Avis, interpret the classic songs of these two iconic albums with a stripped-back ambient, acoustic album, rich in atmosphere. “Blue Tapestry” started as a special project for VERONNEAU; a live show spotlighting in songs and stories the songs of Mitchell and King. The show has packed theaters, clubs, and house-concerts in the US, Canada and UK.
VERONNEAU grew up on these songs, music that shook the world and shaped our musical journey. Blue Tapestry brings a fresh energy and emotion to timeless classics with bold, heartfelt re-imaginings, and a host of stories to tell.
This homage and exploration of the American singer-songwriter era climbed to the Top 10 of the US Folk Music charts, a new genre for VERONNEAU, who are known for their genre diverse, multilingual repertoire, with hit albums in the Jazz and World Music charts, their 5th Top Ten charting album.
